Neil Charlton

Neil PhotoNeil was brought up in a Christian home but it was not until he was 13 that he made a personal commitment and public confession to the Lord Jesus Christ. This happened after a significant spiritual experience whilst attending a Christian crusade in London in 1989.

Whilst at school Neil developed an interest in Graphic Communication and design, which he pursued through sixth form and college levels. He decided to specialise in Electronic Graphic Communication by attending a course based outside London at Worcester College of Technology. It was during this time that Neil became voluntarily involved in a youth club run by a local church. He developed some strong relationships with the youth there and by God's grace led one 'heart hardened' youth to Christ.

On return to London Neil took on the church office administration position for about 18 months (to reduce his well spent student loan). During this time Neil was always somehow involved with the church youth club at Willesden Green Baptist. The Pastoral staff noticed Neil's interest and commitment towards youth and asked him if would consider going for further training in this area.

In 1998 Neil began his training in Youth Work and Ministry with Oasis Trust. In November 2002 he became the full time Youth minister for Immanuel Baptist Fellowship.

Neil is fondly known by his family, friends, and some young people as Neilious (...among other things) and his interests include listening to music, reading, and playing with anything that involves computers.
