Revd. Keith Tarring

Keith became a Christian aged 11 on a children’s summer holiday camp. Although he had gone to church all his life, and his parents were committed Christians, he came to realise that he had never made a personal decision to follow Jesus, and that this was something that he needed to do.

After school Keith moved from Devon to Loughborough to study electronics. Then after a year teaching maths and physics in Kenya, Keith returned to Loughborough to train as a secondary school teacher. Teaching posts in Pakistan and Essex followed.

The next twist in Keith’s life journey was two years spent at All Nations Christian College, where he completed a degree in Biblical and Cross Cultural Studies. This training has proved invaluable in working in the multi-cultural city of London. During his time at All Nations Keith felt called by God to train as a Baptist Minister. Although he resisted as long as possible, Keith knew that this was of God and so he became a student minister, spending two days a week at Spurgeon’s College, while getting ‘on the job experience’ being part-time assistant minister at Westbury Avenue Baptist Church, Wood Green, London.

Keith joined Immanuel Baptist Fellowship in September 2003 and has special responsibility for Camrose Baptist Church. In 2007 Keith completed his Masters Degree. The title for his dissertation was 'Dining out with Jesus and the Disciples: The Symbolic Significance of Meals in Luke-Acts'.

His interests and hobbies include running, reading, growing his own veg. and keeping worms! Keith is married to Su, and they have two young daughters.
